Circa late 1943 - the Russian front
This is a replay using my Warriors - WWII tactical rules (downloadable from this site).
The Russians are attacking into the outskirts of a town.
Their objective is to clear the factory buildings of enemy soldiers and capture the high ground beyond, which is being used by German artillery observers.

Special rules - Take the ‘Successful reconnaissance’ and ‘Off Board Artillery’ Battle \Cards out of the deck. The German player starts the game in possession of these two cards to represent the observers on the high ground.
Each time that the German Panther tank takes a movement action, roll 2xD6 after the unit ends the movement. On a result of 11 or 12, the vehicle breaks down. It can still fire, but once it is fired at and hit - does not have to be penetrated - by a Russian medium gun using A/T fire, it is abandoned by the crew and removed from play.
Remove the ‘Mines’ Battle Card from the pack. The German player starts in possession of this card, which can be played at any time.
The Soviet mortar runs out of ammunition if it ever fails an accuracy roll (i.e. It rolls a 5 or 6).
The game lasts for 12 turns.
The large factory is a level 2 building.
Germans setup first, they may deploy anywhere on the board behind the river (west side).
The Russians set up second, they may deploy anywhere on the eastern side of the river.
The river is shallow but wide, all units can cross it. Each water hex simply counts as an obstacle.
The Russian force is controlled by Player 1, the German by Player 2.

The battlefield as viewed from the Russian lines. A Pak 40 sits on the small left hill (counts as in cover) at the back of the table and a Panther is on the right hill. The Stugs are in the woods to the far right. Russian Infantry are in the large woods on the left along with 3 x T-34, while the main soviet armour is on the right..
